After playing an interesting round of “Would You Rather?” with the family, I thought it would be fun to get into the game of a weekly blog post. Feel free to join in on your own blog and be sure to give an answer to the question of the week.
**I will keep these questions rated G**
Would you rather never have coffee again
OR
Live without television?
Be sure to leave your answer (and justification) in the comments!
No TV…my coffee keeps my mind working and TV is the mind killer…..I do not like my mind when it is idle…..give me lots of coffee and books….have a great Saturday….chuq

Indeed. Coffee for me as well. I can go weeks without television and not feel disconnected.

Oh that’s an easy one. Yes to coffee, no to tv. Better to be awake, than dulled out.

Years ago this would have been an agonizing choice. The television was always on and the coffee pot was only empty for the few seconds between pouring the last cup and preparing the next batch.
I already live without television. TV broke a few years ago and what started as an experiment (not replacing it) stuck. The exchange between you and chuq is right. Smartphones are an alternative. I don’t do the Netflix and can’t tell you which shows air on which nights. If there is a video within an article that merely restates what is written, I will always read. If it is video only, I’ll watch. There are so many educational videos on the net. Is that cheating? Maybe yes.
Then my coffee maker broke. Time for another experiment. I’ve gone years without a coffee maker. Every so often, I will still drink coffee. The root is the caffeine. I’d never willingly drink decaf. As with the tv, we have alternative sources to consume caffeine. Is that cheating? Maybe yes.
If I had to completely cut cords with either, knowing the root of my coffee consumption is the caffeine, and knowing of alternative sources, I would never drink coffee again.

I already live without as much television as I can but give up coffee? I would rather be eating beans out of tin cans under bridges again as to give up my coffee. A lack of coffee can lead to fits of depression and insane thoughts and nightmarish dreams. A lack of really great coffee can lead to feelings of fiscal inadequacy and social ostracization. I mean really, friends, anybody of breeding and quality drinks quality coffee don’t they? — Maybe tea if it is good enough.

Never have coffee. Pretty easy since I’d prefer not drinking it anyway 😉

I need my TV. It’s a pathetic time sink, of course, but since I am not able to drink wine all the time, I need the escape. I do adore coffee, but there’s tea to be had.

TV is pretty easy to give up. No time to watch much anyway. Coffee is giving me up. It doesn’t like me much anymore so I just indulge on occasion but it’s embarrassing coffee. Watered down so it really doesn’t resemble coffee anymore.;( Now if you were to ask me to give up my books or food, the books win. 🙂
