Hi, I’m Andrew, and welcome to Life Between 0 and 1. This is where I write about the things that matter to me most—technology, introversion, minimalism, and politics. It’s a mix, but everything’s organized so you can jump to what interests you and skip the rest.

Tech has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was 13, I saved up and bought a $3,000 computer (this was back in 1992). The first thing I did? Take it apart. That pretty much set the tone for the rest of my life. I’ve always been a tech geek, more interested in exploring and using it than building or inventing it.

In the last couple of years, though, I’ve started noticing how much tech tries to take over our lives—and how many people let it. I still love it, sometimes even obsess over it, but I keep strict boundaries so it doesn’t run me.

A quick note: when I write about people in my life, I’ll keep them nameless—so you’ll see “wife,” “daughter,” or “mother-in-law.” Writing is how I sort through things like frustration, anger, or stress. It’s a way for me to finally say things I’ve had trouble expressing.

This site is mostly for me, but I’m glad you’re here. I do read other blogs when I can, though I won’t always follow back. If I do leave a comment, you can bet I’ve thought it through.
